Panama Plantas, is a community plant hub in Berkeley, focused on providing their customers with access to quality grown plants and plant education. Panama Plantas started out as a local plant pop- up at local farmers markets, vendors markets and have been spotlighted across various pop- up shops. In 2020, Owner Dom Morales, officially launched her plant business to not only provide plants to her local community but to also educate her customers on plant care and foster a deeper connection between individuals and the natural world. As her business grew, she transitioned from attending pop- up events to a brick and mortar location in the City of Berkeley. With this new transition, Owner Dom Morales, reached out to Alliance to get business navigation services through our flagship Navigation Program.

Alliance worked closely with Panama Plantas, to transform their business idea into a reality. A crucial step was obtaining a business license from the City of Berkeley. It provided them with the necessary guidance and support to navigate the application process successfully. Throughout their sessions with Alliance, Panama Plantas was able to get tailored business navigation services to organize their business assets, get an approved City of Berkeley license, and receive input on ways to scale their business to even greater heights.

Panama Plantas has become a staple in the community. Dom Morales states, “As a small business owner in the Bay Area, I have been fortunate to receive unwavering support from the local community. The area’s diverse culture and entrepreneurial spirit have created a thriving environment for small businesses, and I am proud to represent the Filipino community through my plant-based offerings.”
